Bimbo Osobe Savings Coordinator Nigerian Slum and Informal Settlement Federation (SDI - Nigeria) Nigeria
Ms. Bimbo Osobe is a founder member and the savings coordinator in Lagos State for the Nigerian Slum and Informal Settlement Federation (SDI - Nigeria) which supports the growth of community savings groups. Since she was forcefully evicted from her informal community in Badia East in 2013, she has been at the forefront of the struggle against forced evictions of slum communities.
As a trained and certified JEI community paralegal she is able to support other poor urban residents with legal advice. She is passionate about strengthening women’s leadership capacity to enable them to demand and defend their rights. Her tireless advocacy has earned her the moniker ‘Iron Lady’ in Lagos.
