Kathrin Gnilka is an impact entrepreneur, SDG advocate and philanthropist with over 20 years of experience in Sales, Marketing and Business Development in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
Her passion for Sustainability, Conservation and Human Rights led her to leave her corporate career and start her own business 1001 Good Deeds with the aim to inspire minds for positive change. Kathrin gets her motivation from her insatiable love for nature and her eagerness for social justice. She truly believes that everyone in this world deserves dignity, respect and the chance to live a life in peace and prosperity. Therefore, she dedicated her new career to help businesses and individuals understand that our societies can only thrive when we value people and planet equally, when we embrace difference and give a voice to those that aren’t heard. In March 2019, Kathrin was attending the initial screening of Soufra in Beirut and had the chance to not only meet Mariam Shaar in person but also learn about her children’s project. Being a female entrepreneur, Kathrin sees Mariam as a role model for all women in the world. Mariam’s determination to realise her dream made her a beacon of hope for other refugees. She is living proof that a refugee status does not determine the value of a person and that women are an integral part of our societies.
