Kathryn Travers is the development officer for the Equal Participation of Women at Concertation Montréal, and a global consultant on gender, safety, citizen participation, urban development and governance for various international organizations including the United Nations.
Kathryn who is senior advisor to Women in Cities International (WICI) has a successful track record of developing and managing programmes in Canada and internationally to broaden understanding of women’s safety through an intersectional approach and collaboration with different groups of women and girls to explore related areas such as access to essential services and, adolescence issues.
Kathryn has led the development of new and innovative tools for capturing data about women’s and girls’ safety experiences in urban environments and has led training workshops in several countries. She has extensive experience in working with diverse populations in the global North and South including adolescent girls, women with disabilities, indigenous women, elderly women, and women living in informal settlements.
