Ms. Laila Robledo is the director of geomatics at the municipality of Malvinas Argentinas and works to integrate territorial information, geo-statistics, location intelligence, and data science to optimize decision making in the general planning office. Her specialization is urban ecology, land policies, and geographic information systems.
Laila began her career in planning at the Metropolitan Foundation as coordinator of the management plan for the Islands of the Tigre Delta, a vast wetland. She then worked as a consultant in urban planning at various municipalities in the metropolitan region of Buenos Aires before serving as director of urban planning and director of international relations, where she coordinated the thematic unit of urban development in Mercociudades.
She has worked for the federal government in territorial strategies for rural-urban areas, and as coordinator of sectorial plans for riparian municipalities within the framework of their port-city relationship. She teaches a post-graduate course in urban territorial planning and management in municipalities, contributing to positioning urbanism as a tool in policy making for socio-spatial justice.
Leila holds a degree in urban planning and a diploma in social sciences.
