Fifteen - year old Leah Namugerwa is a climate activist and team leader of Fridays For Future Uganda. The grade 10 high school student leads strikes for climate every Friday and has led four global climate strikes in Uganda.
She fights plastic pollution by collecting plastic waste wherever she finds it and has started a campaign to ban the use of plastic bags in Uganda. When she turned 15 Leah planted 200 trees to celebrate her birthday and launched Birthday Trees a project in which she gives free tree samplings to those wishing to celebrate their birthdays by planting trees. She has planted over 3000 trees so far.
