Mr. Marc Collins Chen is an entrepreneur and former politician who has served as the minister of tourism of French Polynesia. He is the co-founder and CEO of OCEANIX, an innovative company that designs and builds floating cities for people to live sustainably on the ocean. Mr. Collins Chen first developed his vision to build floating cities 12 years ago when he was a government minister and weighed the options available for pacific islands to deal with sea level rise. OCEANIX CITY is the world’s first resilient and sustainable floating community for 10,000 residents on 75 hectares.
A pioneer and visionary, Mr. Collins Chen has founded and incubated more than a dozen companies focusing on innovation and technology and has the distinction of having organized the first ever International Conference on Floating Islands. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and various media platforms.
Mr. Collins Chen studied engineering and business management at the University of Austin, Texas. He was born in the USA, raised in Mexico, and relocated to his native Tahiti after college.
He is fluent in French, Spanish and English.
