Ms. JBOUR holds a Bachelor of Law from Jordan University (1990-1994) and a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex (2002-2005). She joined UNHCR in 1994 as a volunteer and continued her work in the humanitarian field since then.
Ms. Jbour has 25 years of experience and expertise in the field of international protection of refugees and stateless persons, advocacy and humanitarian work more broadly. She has served in a variety of positions and operational settings, spanning a wide range of protection and legal-related functions as well as managerial responsibilities. Her postings have included different countries including Jordan, Yemen, Sudan (emergency mission), Armenia, Syria, and Central Europe. She also worked with UNHCR’s Global Learning and Development Centre as a Senior Staff Development Officer.
Prior to her current assignment as Head of Office in Abu Dhabi, she worked in the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific at UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva- Switzerland, covering South East Asia, East Asia, South Asia and the Pacific.
