Sushil has close to 20 years’ experience in grantmaking, resource mobilization, program development, advocacy, and strategic planning and has worked with the United Nations for over fourteen years. He previously worked with the UN Department of Political Affairs as the head of donor relations, planning, and partnerships. He has also been involved in developing strategy, managing and mobilizing resources for multi-partner trust funds, and working with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on assignments in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nepal, and Sudan.
He has also worked as a senior program officer with The Asia Foundation in India, and earlier in his career, as a grantmaker with the Ford Foundation's Peace and Social Justice Program. Sushil has a special interest in the area of indigenous peoples and minority rights, land and conflict issues, and natural resource rights and governance.
He holds a Master of Science in managing international public service organizations from New York University's Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and a Master of Arts in international political economy and development from Fordham University.
