The event shares experiences two African cities in planning and monitoring progress on actions relating to water, energy, and food systems, and upskills participants in undertaking similar work in their cities.
This training event is for city representatives and non-governmental organizations that advise and accompany cities in their food systems work. You will learn how to apply the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus approach to address resource constraint challenges, and how to develop outcome-driven indicators to focus minds on priorities, desired outcomes, and how to achieve them.
By the end of the training event, participants will:
i) be informed and inspired by practical initiatives in Nairobi and Cape Town;
ii) have the opportunity to consider and discuss how the water-energy-food nexus approach might be helpful (or put to better use) in their own cities;
iii) experience for themselves the process of identifying possible indicators that would support action to increase food system resilience from a WEF perspective.
