The training will provide: a) a better understanding and a possible line of intervention for health, education, and public spaces. It will offer a fresh experience developed during the pandemic and systematization through a debate from different institutions and geographical realities. A short presentation of real-world experiences in Rome, Barcelona and Córdona (Argentina), and other cities will be presented by those who were in charge of them. The first part will be consecrated to a presentation and a second to proposals from the participants and feedback from the organizers. b) interaction between students and professors from different geographies and academic institutions, which will have two sorts of beneficiaries. On the one hand, those directly involved in the process, are expected to develop new sensitivity and pedagogical techniques for public spaces, urban form, health, and education. On the other, when the results are exposed in the Biennale, a wider public will have an introduction to this line of applied research through studio courses. c) A new way of thinking about urban form through lectures and cases introduced by members of the urban form hub.
The first goal is to project a new understanding of public spaces and their role in promoting a healthy environment through the principles of the charters of the Biennale dello spazio pubblico, the International Association of Educating Cities, and the declaration of the last biennale on the subject. It will bring an original, cooperative, and updated line of work amid institutions, professionals, and children. The second goal is to engage students and professors in new perspectives of the relationship between urban form, public space, and education. How streets and yards could be related in a different way, how green spaces could be enlarged within existing urban spaces, and how students could interact in different levels of education about urban studies, since the early years to the specialized professional courses. And the third goal is to offer a perspective of updated thinking on the urban form. based on how the original ideas of the urban form hub evolved since its launch in 2014 to the postpandemic reality in 2022.
