Summary

Travelling by public transport, going to school, doing something fun or applying for a job: these can be quite a challenge for people with disabilities. To make sure that anyone can fairly participate in society municipalities draw up local inclusion agenda’s.

This event guides you through the do’s and don’ts, voiced by the experts: people with disabilities and their professional partners.
You will hear people with lived experience from various angles on the current development.
Additionally, we will shed light on the roadmap to connecting the Global Goals and Local Inclusion Agenda’s or policy. This contributes to an integral mindset that is needed to ensure that accessibility and inclusion are taken up as the basis for all development (under municipal policy). A good practice will be shared to illustrate this.

Objectives

  • To raise awareness on the need for local inclusion strategies
  • To enhance knowledge exchange on working in an inclusive manner at local level
  • To enhance practical knowledge on ‘How to develop a local inclusion agenda?’
  • To indicate the added value of relating inclusive sustainable development to the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • To expand the international network on this topic
