The training aims to encourage the use and methodologies based on open-source tools to facilitate the assessment for urban structure performance at a neighborhood and city-wide scale. Participants will be exposed to a variety of methodologies, multiple benefits based on open-source technologies, and their development process. In addition, participants will experience the use of open-source tools through a practical exercises in order to strengthen their focus on the collection, management, and visualization of data. These activities intend to trigger the interest of the participants and develop their capacity to formulate methodologies tailored to solve critical issues and contribute to the promotion of sustainable urban development within their contexts.
1) Promote the use of open-source tools for the development of methodologies oriented to strategic formulation at neighborhood- and city-wide scale.
2) Inform the participants about various methodologies based on open-source tools
3) Introduce the participants to a development process by providing basic knowledge as we encourage the formulation of responsive methodologies for evaluating critical issues in their contexts and provide solutions for them.
4) Facilitate reflection and exchange for the optimization of tools and methodologies in living urban environments.
