Summary

This training equips participants to adopt the Settlements Approach to create resilient urban communities, addressing climate and environmental challenges. Using the Environmental Thematic Annex as a key tool, participants will engage in an interactive session, including case studies, breakout groups, and hands-on exercises. The event emphasises collaboration between city leaders, humanitarian, development, and local actors to strengthen community resilience in crisis settings.

Objectives

The training aims to build capacity among city leaders, development partners, and humanitarian actors to integrate climate and environmental considerations into building resilient urban communities using the Environmental Thematic Annex as a guide. Participants will enhance preparedness and resilience in conflict or disaster-induced crises by developing skills to coordinate across sectors for sustainable community development.
