Held alongside the World Urban Forum 12, Egypt’s "Towards Decentralization and Local Administration Reforms" conference aims to introduce its Decentralization Initiative, crucial to Egypt’s Vision 2030 for Sustainable Development. The conference will highlight Egypt’s roadmap across three primary pillars—administrative, economic, and financial decentralization—each essential for promoting equitable, transparent, and efficient local governance.
1. Showcase Egypt’s Decentralization Initiative: The conference will launch the initiative as a core component of Egypt’s local governance reforms, aligning with global best practices and demonstrating Egypt’s leadership in sustainable urban development.
2. Raise International Awareness: Egypt positions itself as a model for progressive governance, sharing its approach to decentralization to enhance global understanding of localized administration's potential benefits.
3. Facilitate Knowledge Exchange: By presenting case studies like the Upper Egypt Local Development Program (UELDP), Egypt will engage in a collaborative dialogue with international experts, fostering insights into effective governance practices and sustainable development strategies.
