Summary

Participants will gain insights into the national reform in the Republic of Croatia, empowered by EC DG REFORM, aiming to integrate emerging topics into spatial planning for climate-resilient and sustainable urban development at the local level, and providing communities with accessible green and public spaces. The training will enable capacity building of local and national stakeholders focusing on opportunities for green urban renewal, spatial development, financing, and digitalization.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:
•learn to set foundations for green urban renewal at the national level and conduct a participatory process with cities’ decision-makers while developing new knowledge and promoting opportunities for improved planning adapted to local needs,
•identify aspects of drafting and implementing the Green Urban Renewal Strategy in the context of climate change, NBS and biodiversity in cities,
•navigate through the IT tool for mapping urban green and other public spaces.
