A documentary that humanizes unhoused people and explores their backgrounds, dreams and struggles to find the way home. This film aims to raise awareness and funds to end homelessness, and is part of the project Let's Make a Difference.
The documentary HOMELESS aims to:
- Raise awareness and funds to end homelessness. Treating this global issue as an emergency is ethically right and much needed. The film will promote conversations about the topic, also through the organizations and celebrities who support it. The documentary will be made available to UN-Habitat for its campaigns and will be screened at film festivals around the world. Furthermore, the profits from the distribution will be used to house underprivileged families.
- Humanize homeless people. We are all part of the same community, and we should all take care of each other. The documentary focuses on the “invisible ones” and gives them a voice: It follows the stories, fears, and dreams of unhoused people in their journey toward Hope. Audiences around the world need to hear their experiences, sympathize with them, and see them as human beings.
- Promote the World Urban Campaign (WUC) and the #HousingMatters campaign. The documentary and all its marketing material (poster, trailers, website, press releases, online posts, articles) will feature the WUC logo. The UN-Habitat campaigns will also be mentioned at the beginning of the film, in interviews, and at all the international festivals after the documentary’s premiere at the World Urban Forum. We recognize housing as a fundamental need and right. Together, we can make a difference.
