Summary

The event will be a practical learning opportunity for local governments/NGOs/citizens groups to achieve sustainable and effective integrated solid waste management know-how such as daily operation and management of collection and management of landfills, safety closures and post-closure use of landfills through ‘Fukuoka Method’, which can contribute to reduction of GHG emissions from dumpsites and environmental hazards such as open fires and leachate contamination.

Objectives

Understanding common issues and failures in daily municipal solid waste management operations faced by many cities globally and how to overcome these with comprehensive knowledge and improved daily practices.
