Our City Plans for implementation of the New Urban Agenda and localization of SDGs through participatory planning. Examples and experiences from Nepal, Vietnam, Mexico, and Argentina.
This event aims to share and discuss learnings and challenges of the contextualization and implementation of participatory urban planning methodologies, such as Our City Plans, in different Cities around the world with a focus on the experience in Nepal and Vietnam contexts. It will showcase how global methodologies could be tailored and adapted to different environments to support and facilitate participatory processes in urban planning leading to inclusive, green, resilient and sustainable cities.
Our City Plans is a participatory toolbox that aims to support local governments on how to implement the New Urban Agenda and localise the Sustainable Development Goals in urban planning processes. It is a step-by-step methodology to develop inclusive, data-driven and tailored urban planning processes, from the assessment to the implementation phase, for small and intermediate cities in capacity-constrained contexts.
