Summary

This Side event will bring together experts and practitioners who have worked in the Medinas of Morocco and other ancient urban fabrics in different countries to discuss the current situation and perspectives of a new intervention approach aimed at connecting the Medina with the rest of the modern city.

The event will also provide an opportunity to exchange views among various institutions and international experts on the approaches adopted in the Mediterranean region to promote sustainable development in these territories.

Objectives

• Exchange and debate on the approaches adopted by the invited countries in their intervention actions in the medinas;
• Analyze the mechanisms and tools used to support actors in financing projects in the medinas of the concerned countries;
• Plan collaborations with partner countries on management methods and governance of projects and the good practices adopted.
