Summary

During the training, participants will learn about designing & managing public spaces in their community. It covers various aspects & practical skills. Participants will explore how different elements of public spaces impact people's experiences, considering both physical layout & social atmosphere. The goal is to enable participants to create safe & inclusive spaces. Additionally, they will learn how to involve the community in the design process to ensure meeting their needs & preferences.

Objectives

The overall objective is to introduce tools and methodologies to include gender perspectives and needs in the design and operation of public spaces in participatory manner, with following specific objectives:
1. Learn how to conduct a site-specific assessment that reflects the quality of the five public space dimensions.
2. Learn how to collect and analyse data, statistically and spatially.
3. Learn how to assess and design in a participatory way with the local community.
