Summary

The event highlights how to integrate the 2030 Agenda into local planning processes, offering innovative solutions for urban planners and local stakeholders to harness opportunities and tackle the challenges of rapid urbanization. Featuring cutting-edge content, interactive games, and best practices from the newly updated SDG Localization Learning Module 2 on 'Planning for Change with the SDGs,' co-developed by United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and UN-Habitat, participants will gain practical insights and skills to promote sustainable urban development.

Objectives

The training seeks to offer a hands-on learning experience for urban practitioners and local stakeholders, using SDG Localization Module 2 on ‘Planning for Change with the SDGs’.

By the end of the training event, participants will have:
· Understood (or reinforced their knowledge of) the key concepts of SDG localization and local planning processes.
· Acquired skills to integrate SDG-related principles, SDG targets and SDG indicators into a local planning process to strengthen the planning process and accelerate the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.
· Learned about best practices of SDG-aligned local planning processes from LRGs from different regions of the world.
