Chinese Society for Sustainable Development

SDG11 implementation and technical solutions for sustainable communities in China

CSSD aims at promoting technology development and innovation, fostering the implementation of sustainable development strategy, and making contribution to China’s sustainable development since its founding in 1991. China has established 189 national sustainable development experimental zones to explore innovative models since 1986. To further implement the 2030 agenda, the State Council approved the construction of 11 national innovation demonstration zones in 2018, 2019, and 2022. These innovation demonstration zones aim to create replicable and promotable models for similar domestic regions and provide Chinese experiences for other countries to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The exhibition presents local practices regarding the implementation of SDG11, based on the technical solutions and local practices that CSSD has supported in the national sustainable development experimental zones and innovation demonstration zones. It comprises three parts: 1) an overview of the innovation demonstration zones and how CSSD supports local governments, 2) innovative approaches and local actions towards sustainable urban development, and 3) digital tools, partnerships, and dialogues for sustainable communities in China.
The organizer will present technical approaches, solutions, and local practices concerning the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, particularly SDG11, in different cities. The exhibition will feature video demonstrations and QR interpretations. This exhibition is designed for audiences interested in learning about sustainable development practices, technical routes, and local practices regarding SDG 11 and related SDGs in China.
