Modern cities utilise technology and digital solutions to enable sustainability, equity and prosperity, but need to ensure that people stay front and centre of government and community-led initiatives. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology can power community engagement to build a bridge between government and citizens and ensure that data-driven decision making can support city policy and decision making with
people in mind. GIS is also a critical tool in understanding and responding to the climate crisis at a global, regional and local level.
Through global examples of technology in action with various organisations, Esri’s exhibit at WUF12 will showcase:
