The Government of Moscow
The Moscow exhibition aims to embrace a program for the development of urban infrastructure, improved housing for Muscovites, and a qualitative urban realm. The exhibition will fully reflect the localized approach known as the renovation program, launched by the Moscow Government in 2017. One important aspect of implementing the renovation program in Moscow was the presence of a low average living space per resident. This highlighted the need for a renewal program to address the housing shortage and improvements.
The objectives of the program are to provide citizens with quality housing, prevent the massive emergence of dilapidated housing, create a high-quality urban environment, and resolve issues related to transport, ecology, and landscaping. This comprehensive approach has effectively mitigated housing inadequacies and addressed infrastructure challenges, taking into account the needs of people with limited mobility and implementing “smart city” principles.
The exhibition will also display a digital system developed specifically for renovation, which accumulates all the data on demolished and new houses, smart demolition technology, and the improvement of public spaces.
The content presented correlates with the main theme of WUF12, addressing the negative consequences of inadequate housing and the need for access to adequate housing and safe public spaces, which encompass both the economic and social dimensions of daily life. By adopting bills on the development and renovation of housing conditions, the Moscow Government is implementing new technologies in the construction and finishing of housing. These measures are changing the general appearance of the city for the better and shaping the modern architectural appearance of the capital.
