The exhibition will launch the urban AI MOOC. The self-paced Massive Open
Online Course (MOOC) we provide focuses on urban AI and provides a thorough
examination of advanced technologies and techniques in the field of smart cities and
fair urban planning. The course covers a range of interesting subjects over a period
of six weeks, such as the use of AI in urban contexts, data analytics for making
informed decisions, sustainable infrastructure development, and promoting
inclusion in city planning processes.
This program is a collaborative effort backed by major institutions across Africa. It
was designed by the Smart and Future Cities Laboratory at Ain Shams University in
Cairo, Egypt, as part of the African Cities Lab project. The MOOC is funded by the
Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), emphasizing the worldwide
importance and collaborative nature of this educational initiative.
Urban AI MOOC participants will be provided with expert-led lectures, case studies,
interactive simulations, and hands-on projects. The course's objective is to provide
students, professionals, and policymakers with the necessary knowledge and
abilities to effectively utilize AI in developing sustainable, resilient, and inclusive
urban environments in Africa and other regions.
