Tecnológico de Monterrey

The exhibition of Tecnologico de Monterrey, will present the multidisciplinary research projects and initiatives lead by the School of Architecture, Art and Design with a focus on urban and territorial development. The “City Initiative” of the School, coordinates the efforts of (a) the Research Group "Sustainable Territorial Development" (composed by ore than 30 researchers based in 12 campuses - https://tec.mx/en/research/sustainable-territorial-development ); (b) a City Observatory (based in Guadalajara and with studies in all the major Mexican Cities – www.observatoriodeciudades.mx ); (c) five City laboratories ( www.c-lab.com.mx )and (d) a Master Degree in Architecture and Urban Design.
Videos and infographics will present to the public the “City Initiative” and the main research projects. In particular, the “Design for Vulnerables – Technology Challenge” research project, which aims to promote design methodologies for the adoption of technological resources in the most vulnerable communities of northern Mexico. In the semiarid region of the Chihuahua desert, where vulnerable communities have to face the challenges of an increasingly extreme climate and the violence of the drug cartels, Tecnológico de Monterrey is working with local communities to shape a hopeful and regenerative future ( www.designforvulnerables.com ).
