Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI)
“All Aboard: Creating Mobility Spaces for Everyone” focuses on building awareness around transport infrastructure and behavior that ensures access and safety, regardless of age, ability, gender, and other factors.
The theme goes in line with the World Urban Forum’s focus “It All Starts at Home: Local Actions for Sustainable Cities and Communities” by highlighting the inclusion of communities who depend on transport for access to essential services.
The booth also connects with the special session on “Empathy in Motion” and complements knowledge on planning for different people at different courses of their lives.
The booth has the following main elements:
• Virtual Reality Experience with ARUP: TUMI is developing a virtual reality experience using VR goggles to have users experience mobility through the eyes of three personas:
• Person using a wheelchair
• Woman at night
• Elderly with impaired sight and sound
• Visual Policy Brief on creating inclusive transport systems with ITDP
• The Visual Policy Brief on creating cities for belonging will be displayed in the booth as a guide for different sectors on actionable items to create inclusive mobility spaces
• A video on the experiences of different persons with disabilities around the world will be shown
• There will also be a showcase of existing efforts from GIZ globally on inclusive transport
