Unit For Urban Citizensip
The Unit for Urban Citizenship (UUC) plans to host an engaging exhibition that highlights its impactful work and research in the areas of civic engagement, participatory development, and urban citizenship. This event will serve as a platform to showcase the UUC's contributions towards addressing the complex challenges of emergent African urbanism through transdisciplinary research, community engagement initiatives, and curriculum collaboration. Our research outputs will be displayed visually on an LED screen, offering visitors an immersive experience of the various projects and interventions spearheaded by the UUC. Additionally, physical booklets containing detailed information on these research outputs will be available for attendees to browse, providing a comprehensive understanding of our work.
The primary goal of this event is to facilitate networking and foster meaningful discussions between the UUC, visitors, and potential collaborators. By creating a welcoming and interactive environment, we aim to encourage attendees to ask questions, engage in dialogue, and explore opportunities for future partnerships with the UUC. Whether they are academic researchers, practitioners, policymakers, or community representatives, visitors will have the chance to learn more about our mission and the innovative approaches we are taking to promote socio-spatial justice and sustainable urban development.
This event also serves a dual purpose as a knowledge dissemination platform. We aim to share the insights and findings of our research with a broader audience, contributing to the global conversation around urban citizenship and sustainable development. By engaging with the exhibition and the UUC team, visitors will not only gain a deeper understanding of the Unit's work but also explore ways in which they can collaborate with us on future projects, furthering our shared goals of impactful, evidence-based interventions in urban communities.
