Amr Lashin
Amr is currently the Deputy Governor for Aswan Governorate & oversees urban planning, investment, LED, IC, tourism, ICT & community engagement.
With over two decades of experience, he made significant contributions to urban development, in Egypt & the Arab region starting from GIZ, he spearheaded participatory urban upgrading projects & supported community engagement in urban development 2 Govs.
At CARE, his leadership extended to a diverse range of initiatives focused on governance, social accountability, and economic empowerment. He pioneered the Egyptian model for community monitoring & participatory budgeting
Since 2020, until his Deputy Gov appointment, he headed Urban Governance, Legislation & Policy Program at UNH Egypt. He championed a holistic approach to urban development, emphasizing the crucial role of stakeholder participation & effective legal frameworks. He contributed to finalization of NUP & supported the collaboration with the government to host the WUF12
