Hanan Dowidar

Hanan Dowidar, dedicated to unlocking the potential of young people, joined DROSOS FOUNDATION in November 2023 as Country Director for Egypt. A development expert, Hanan has a diverse background working with international organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and civil society groups. She began her career as an economist at the Egyptian Ministry of International Cooperation before transitioning to the World Bank, where she worked both in Washington, DC, and Cairo. As Deputy Director of the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Programme, funded by the European Commission, Hanan launched numerous initiatives focused on public engagement with science, especially targeting children and youth. She has also consulted for organizations like the American University in Cairo (AUC) on informal science education. Prior to joining DROSOS, Hanan served as Head of Strategic Partnerships at 1001 Inventions, a leading British science and cultural heritage organization, wh
