Jane Wolff Katz
Jane Katz is Board Vice Chair and Washington DC Coordinator for Global Urban Development (GUD), and an international urban and housing advisor to the UN and other global organizations. She serves as Co-Chair for Civil Society Organizations on the Steering Committee of UN Habitat’s World Urban Campaign and the General Assembly of Partners (GAP) Executive Committee. Ms. Katz was re-appointed by the UN Office of Disaster Risk Reduction as the UN New Urban Agenda Focal Point to the UNDRR/Sendai Stakeholder Engagement Advisory Group (SEM). She is a UN Representative to the UN Dept. of Global Communications for the NGO Committee on Sustainable Development-NY and a member of the NGOCSD-NY Executive Board and a Core Group member of NGO Major Group Urban Cluster.
Previously, Jane provided expertise in global housing policy, urban, disaster resilience, and land-related issues and campaigns as Director of International Affairs and Programs in Habitat for Humanity International’s Office of Government Relations and Advocacy for close to twenty years. Ms. Katz has also worked in the public and private sectors at Fannie Mae and in United States government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Federal Home Loan Bank Board.
She received her Master of Arts degree in Government and Politics in urban affairs and public administration from the University of Maryland and Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs from the University of Cincinnati.
