Janene Tuniz

Janene Tuniz, based at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, provides technical support to national governments and local authorities in developing and implementing sustainable urban mobility policies and strategies. Her work focuses on the environmental, road safety, and accessibility benefits of promoting walking, cycling, integrated urban mobility, and digital solutions. Previously, she served as an International UN Volunteer at UN-Habitat, managing projects in the Global South with a focus on vulnerable groups and low-carbon transport strategies. Janene holds an LL.M specializing in Sustainable Development from the University of Milan and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Pretoria. She is also an internationally accredited mediator (CEDR).
