Marta Gomes
Marta Gomes is the SDG Councilor at Mafra Municipality, where she oversees portfolios related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), waterways, drinking water, wastewater, energy, and climate action. A Biochemical Engineer and a member of the Portuguese Engineers Order, Marta also holds a post-graduate degree in management and negotiation. With a strong background in the water industry, she is skilled in marketing, sales management, and business planning. In 2016, she founded her own company specializing in microbial monitoring and the prevention and control of Legionella. Marta is certified by City & Guilds for Legionella management and has extensive experience auditing prevention plans for Legionnaires’ disease. Recently, she has coordinated microbial monitoring field operations in large facilities, including hospitals and industrial sites, bringing her expertise in risk assessment and public health to the forefront of her work.
