SM Shaikat

<p>SM Shaikat, Executive Director of SERAC-Bangladesh, is a dynamic advocate for youth rights, democratic participation, and community development. He pioneered the Urban Youth Councils initiative, empowering young people to engage in civic life across Bangladesh. Recognized as a global young leader by Women Deliver, he served as the Youth Advisor (Asia-Pacific) to UN-Habitat in 2015. Shaikat is a member of the UN Women's 30 for 2030 network, the Swedish Institute Leaders fellowship, and the U.S. State Department’s International Visitors Leadership Program. His accolades include the Bayer Scholarship, Asia Young Leader for Democracy award, 120 Under 40 Champion title, and the 2024 Young Global Changer Recoupling Award. His leadership continues to inspire progress in youth advocacy and rights protection globally.</p>
