Suzanne Thomson Wambua

Suzanne Thomson Wambua is a strategic organizer, writer, and curator in East Africa's cultural sector. As the Senior Program Manager of the Art Program at the Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health (TICAH) in Kenya, her work focuses on a few key themes: art and culture in public spaces, small grants for cultural practitioners, and creating spaces for community building among artists. She believes in the transformative power of storytelling and creativity across generations to improve individual and community well-being. Suzanne supports artists in connecting across practices, age groups, and communities to explore social issues together. Passionate about public art, she works to bring artists and the public together to revitalize urban spaces through culture. She also designed and leads a small grants fund for the cultural heritage sector in East Africa. Prior to her role at TICAH, Suzanne spent over a decade working as an organizational development strategist and innovator.
