The panel will explore how Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and other forms of collaboration are essential tools for driving innovation in crucial areas such as green infrastructure, waste management, and renewable energy, offering environmental, economic, and social benefits. The discussion will highlight the role of these partnerships in building more resilient and sustainable cities, with a global impact, highlighting the development of the “PPPs for sustainable development Toolkit” - adapted adapted from the ICLEI World Secretariat PPPs Toolkit - by IPGC and ICLEI for the reality of the Global South, the experience of UN agencies mobilizing and building solutions to foster collaborations aiming the achievement of the New Urban Agenda.
1. Explore the key role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and other forms of collaboration as essential tools to drive innovation in crucial areas such as green infrastructure, waste management and renewable energy, providing environmental, economic and social benefits.
2. Highlight the importance of PPPs in building more resilient and sustainable cities with global impact, focusing on the development and application of the “PPP Toolkit for Sustainable Development”, adapted by IPGC and ICLEI from the ICLEI World Secretariat's PPP Toolkit, to the reality of the Global South.
3. Present the experience of UN agencies in mobilizing and creating solutions to foster collaborations aimed at fulfilling the New Urban Agenda.
