Summary

Training and capacity building in construction Technology is the key for the rehabilitation of war affected Sudan. This event looks into various construction technologies that form the basis of construction in the country and its manpower requirements. The paper also looks into prior war state of construction industry in the Sudan, its tools, methods and institutions required to form a future basis for trained personnel to rehabilitation of cities, infrastructure and render them and their communities more inclusiveness, safety, resilience and sustainability. The importance of such programs stem from both local and international recognition of adequate shelter provision for every citizen within the Sudanese urban centers.

Objectives

The key objectives of the project, is the contribution towards enhancing the current housing situation, and assist in the rehabilitation programs of war affected urban areas of the Sudan, stemmed from past research and development experiences within the country.
