Summary

This event will showcase Malaysia's pioneering efforts in reimagining low-income public housing through collaboration, innovation and sustainability. It will highlight the progress made in the collaborative approach, with a focus on sharing outcomes, lessons learned and the potential impact on urban development.
The intervention programmes focus on three impact areas:
- Empowering the urban poor community in Public Housing
- Increasing the standard of living and overall liveability for the community, and
- Providing policy input into the design of the next generation of public housing to improve their sustainability and liveability.

Objectives

There are a number of objectives for this event related to sharing information so that other countries and cities might learn from the approach and implement for themselves, as well as providing feedback to the Malaysian team so that they might find ways to further improve their programme.

(2) Exchange of knowledge and best practices in collaborative urban design among international participants.
