The Malaysia SDG Cities Network represents a pioneering movement towards sustainable urban development, aligning with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. The network serves as a collaborative platform for cities across Malaysia to innovate, share knowledge, and drive transformative change towards a more sustainable future. The cornerstone of the network's philosophy is rooted in fostering holistic urban advancements that benefit economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability in equal measure. Malaysia, known for its bustling metropolitan hubs as well as serene natural landscapes, presents a unique opportunity for urban centers to redefine their growth trajectories. Through the collective efforts of the network's member cities towards resilience, and equitable community development.

Objectives

a. To promote sectoral knowledge exchange to advance the SDGs;
b. To make connections between organizations working on the SDGs;
c. To encourage organisations to collaborate and build partnerships on common SDGs targets;
d. To share and increase public awareness of the work currently being done by local governments and local organizations in cities that will advance the SDGs; and
e. To engage and encourage more local organizations to deliver and support the localisation of the SDGs in cities.
