Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony will inaugurate the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), bringing participants together to immerse in the theme, "It All Starts at Home." This event will feature keynote addresses by UN-Habitat’s Executive Director, representatives from the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and leading voices in sustainable urbanization.

Setting the tone for WUF12, the ceremony will highlight the critical role of local actions in advancing urban sustainability, fostering discussions on how communities can drive global progress. It will also invite attendees to prepare for the week’s activities with creativity, solutions, and collaborative spirit, ensuring that the forum sparks transformational change —locally, together, and now.
