Summary

This training will build the skills of city officials and other city leaders to foster open innovation to solve local problems, by collaborating with actors across government, the private sector, social enterprise, and city residents to create more resilient, sustainable, inclusive urban futures.

Objectives

Participants will leave with an understanding of how to approach creating open innovation challenges that will deliver local solutions to complex problems, and will draft an open innovation program in their city. The participants will achieve the following learning outcomes:
An understanding of what an open innovation challenge is
When it is suitable to use this approach
How to engage with innovators and the private sector
