Summary
This session addresses the critical gap between housing planning principles and their implementation on the ground. Through a roundtable format of case presentations focused on pilot actions and partnerships, participants will explore how planning competencies, enabling policies, and financing mechanisms can be linked to accelerate inclusive and affordable housing delivery at scale. The session will showcase replicable partnership and financing models, practical tools connecting planning to housing production, and emerging pilot collaborations between cities, academic institutions, and investment partners -including attention to green building standards and resilient architecture. Target participants include local and national governments, planning educators, development finance institutions, private sector developers, international organisations, and NGOs.
