From Climate Risk to Climate-Resilient Housing A Practical Training on Bioclimatic and Affordable Housing Solutions

Architecture of Rabat (ENA Rabat) under the Ministry of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy (Morocco), proposes a methodological approach that is both practical and transferable. It aims to support the design, assessment, and improvement of housing in the face of intensifying climate risks.
The session provides participants with operational tools and decision-making frameworks to develop solutions adapted to the production of urban fabric (housing and related public spaces). These solutions are intended to be climate-resilient while ensuring thermal comfort, affordability, and sustainability across diverse urban contexts.
The training opens with a series of plenary presentations and concludes with a practical exercise. It encourages participants to analyze the impacts of heatwaves, energy poverty, and shortcomings in the design of buildings and spaces, highlighting their effects on health, safety, and social equity.
