It will showcase how these policy frameworks are enabling housing solutions, improving access to land and basic services, and guiding sustainable urban development. the discussion would be focusing on the lessons from the experience of implementation of Korea—funded National Urban Policy Programme (KNUPP) in 8 participating countries. Participants will exchange knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned from NUP processes, highlighting positive progress and tangible benefits. The event will also address challenges and explore opportunities to strengthen NUP deployment as a strategic tool for addressing housing themes and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and implementing New Urban Agenda (NUA). Importantly, the discussion would be reflected by lessons and experience from the partners from Korea; Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of the Republic of Korea, Korea Research Institute for Human Settlement (KRIHS), Stakeholders of K-NUPP participating countries and others. Objectives: • Showcase progress and impacts of NUPs in advancing housing solutions and their role in creating inclusive, affordable, and resilient urban environments, drawing on examples from the participating countries under K-NUPP. • Highlight lessons learned from K-NUPP and strengthen policy coherence by exploring how housing approaches can be integrated into urban policy frameworks. • Promote multi-stakeholder engagement, knowledge exchange, and innovative demonstration projects to deliver scalable local interventions aligned with the UN-Habitat Strategic Plan 2026–2029. • Derive recommendations to advance K-NUPP by facilitating knowledge exchange among participants on effective NUP processes and housing strategies.
