Summary

governments and cities to design, test, and manage housing and infrastructure systems in safer, more resilient, and more sustainable ways. As cities worldwide confront escalating housing pressures, climate risks, and infrastructure complexity, digital twins offer a practical, scalable tool to support informed decision-making and resilient urban outcomes. This networking event, hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI), United Arab Emirates, provides a curated platform for city leaders, national authorities, international organizations, technology providers, and research institutions to connect, exchange experiences, and explore practical applications of digital twins for housing, resilience, and sustainable urban development, in direct alignment with the WUF13 theme: “Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities.” Rather than a conventional technical session, this event is designed as a connection-driven, partnership-oriented forum, combining concise case showcases with structured networking and thematic exchanges. Participants will engage with government-led digital twin implementations, including national and city-scale models, and explore how these tools are being used to improve housing safety, climate adaptation, infrastructure integration, and community engagement. The event will highlight real-world use cases from the UAE and selected international cities, demonstrating how digital twins move beyond visualization to deliver measurable policy and housing outcomes. Through facilitated networking tables and targeted discussions, participants will identify collaboration opportunities, pilot initiatives, and partnership models that can accelerate digital twin adoption, particularly in cities and countries seeking practical, implementable solutions. By convening diverse stakeholders around shared challenges and complementary expertise, the session aims to foster a global community of practice on digital twins for housing and resilience, supporting knowledge exchange, technical cooperation, and future partnerships beyond WUF13. The event will focus on several critical areas: - Digital Twins for Housing Planning and Development - Showcasing - Infrastructure Integration and Optimization - Community Engagement and Participatory Planning - Data Governance and Privacy MOEI-led Global Digital Twin Community of Practice
