Summary

Rapid urbanisation presents both challenges and opportunities for sustainable development. Cities are responsible for a significant share of global energy use, emissions, and resource consumption. Green technologies offer practical, scalable solutions to support more sustainable and resilient urban systems.

This training session explores how solutions such as renewable energy, solar integration, energy efficient buildings, smart grids, sustainable mobility, and circular systems can be embedded in urban development.

A central focus is on labour market dynamics, including workforce readiness, skills development, and the creation of green jobs. The session will examine how policy and practice can support labour market adaptation to the green transition, while contributing to long term economic growth."
