From Policy to Action - Evidence Based Solutions for Africa Housing Crisis

The training will address housing challenge in Africa and the need to have robust evidence base through accessible disaggregated data and contextualized solutions from research by academia. The synergy from updated data, digitalization such as GIS mapping, and implementation of people-centered interventions have the potential to transform urban policies to impacts. The training will be conducted through a panel discussion where panelists will address the key urbanization challenges in the African context e.g. housing deficit and proliferation of informal settlements, inadequate services, social inequality and sustainable financing and suggest recommendations to resolve these challenges. They will present good practice and case examples from selected countries in Africa. A Q&A session will also allow the participants to ask questions and inputs on the same.
