Sub-Saharan Africa's Urban Awakening Catalyzing Economic Growth and Job Creation

The event will launch the World Bank’s forthcoming Flagship report, titled Sub-Saharan Africa’s Urban Awakening: Catalyzing Economic Growth and Job Creation. This report provides an evidence-based analysis of the major urbanization challenges that confront Sub-Saharan African countries, and based on this, makes recommendations as to how the region’s national and local policymakers can better leverage the rapid urbanization of its youthful population for both economic growth and the creation of more and better jobs. The event will consist of a short presentation of the report’s key findings followed by a moderated high-level panel discussion, and Q&A session.
