As the world marks a decade since the launch of New Urban Agenda, the urgent need for inclusive and fair urban transition cannot be overemphasized. Marginalized groups like youth and children, women and girls, persons with disabilities, and older persons are most affected by rapid urbanization. The youth form the largest percentage of this component hence their vital role in solving the world’s housing crisis. This event aims at bringing stakeholders together, strengthening capacity, sharing knowledge on best practices relating to fair and inclusive transitions as solutions, and success stories of how active youth engagement as changemakers solves the housing and urbanization challenges by extension. This will be achieved by; -holding a plenary session where diverse panelists will present importance of inclusive and fair transitions including policy processes. -presentation of success stories from countries like Bangladesh, Nigeria, Cambodia, and various projects where active youth engagement has improved quality of life among residents in cities and communities. -launch of ‘Socially Inclusive National Urban Policies’ guide and presentation of the ‘Urban Youth Council Model’ to guide governments, policy makers, urban development practitioners on how to mainstream social inclusion and engage young persons in urban transitions particularly policy processes
