German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
Germany’s contributions to the WUF12 will highlight key topics essential to inspire and drive meaningful change in urban communities worldwide, including urban climate action, just transition, reduction of inequalities, equity and (disability) inclusion.
Under the motto of the German Pavilion „Communities in Transition: Building Green, Inclusive and Equitable Cities“ the German government together with international partners as well as representatives from German cities, academia and civil society will showcase collaborative efforts to promote sustainable urban development. Networking and knowledge will be one of the major functions of the pavilion.
The German pavilion functions as the representation of the German Federal Government at the WUF and is jointly organized by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB), the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The German pavilion will host/include:
• A paperless info point (tablets, information pillar with digital publications from the stakeholders)
• An event area for approx. 20 people / for 20 events
• A networking area and meeting area for bilateral talks and/or partner meetings
• A coffee bar (in the form of a coffee bike or similar and as Point-Of-Interest)
